FDA updates reported harmful events linked to breast implants

The FDA has updated reported cases of breast implant-associated cancer and breast implant illness. Included in this update is approval of a questionnaire that asks about quality of life and satisfaction with breast implants. (10/20/20). Note: On October 27, 2021 the FDA announced stronger guidance on breast implant safety.
Questions To Ask Your Health Care Provider
- How often should I see a board-certified plastic surgeon, even if I have no concerns about my breast implants?
- How often should I have an MRI to evaluate the integrity of my silicone breast implants?
- How can I obtain a copy of the manufacturer’s safety information for the implants I have or I am considering?
