About the Study

VOICES of Black Women is a study led by the American Cancer Society to better understand cancer and other health conditions among Black women. Participation in VOICES involves completing an online health and life history survey at enrollment and updating information twice a year. Results from this study will help inform how to improve the health of Black women for future generations. Interested participants can enroll for the study on the VOICES portal, or learn more on the study website.

What the Study Involves

Participants will visit the VOICES Portal to confirm eligibility and register for a secure account (5-10 minutes). Next, participants will review the consent to join the study, and provide some basic background information to set up their account (20-30 minutes). To finish enrolling in VOICES, participants will complete a life and health history survey that will take about 1 hour. Participants will then complete shorter (about 30 minutes) online surveys twice per year. If a participant develops cancer, we may ask permission to contact their doctor to learn more about their diagnosis. Over time, we will provide study updates and may also invite participants to participate in additional research activities. Review common questions about study participation on the VOICES website.
