A Fair Trial: The Foundations of Breast Cancer

Dr. Steven Narod is a co-discoverer of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Reflecting knowledge and expertise amassed from his career as a physician and breast cancer researcher, his book, A Fair Trial, provides unique insights into many of the paradoxes that arise when healthcare professionals attempt to predict the course of personalized breast cancer treatments.  A previous winner of the Force Spirit of Empowerment award and the Basser Global Prize, Dr. Narod has studied BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations for three decades.

Through careful observation and study of patients, A Fair Trial goes beyond conventional thinking to challenge readers; those familiar with current cancer treatment may be surprised. A Fair Trial is a touchstone for other scientists and physicians to question the current paradigms of breast cancer screening and treatment. It offers new ideas to help physicians, researchers and patients move forward toward a cure.
