At OurCancerStories.com, we share real experiences of cancer patients and survivors. These stories reflect the varied ways individuals are affected by cancer, through their diagnoses, treatment plans and changes in their emotional, professional and daily lives. These personal stories help others relate to the many challenges cancer patients face.
Helmed by a team of researchers at the Global Asia Institute, National University of Singapore, we started this project to support cancer patients through honest and informative content. By collecting surveys from both cancer patients and survivors, we present their emotions, decisions and experiences, from difficult to hopeful moments. These stories help others understand what it means to live with cancer. They reflect how individuals navigate cancer in their own way, showing that each experience is unique but shared.
Along with these stories, we provide medically reviewed articles from our in-house writers. These articles offer guidance, address common concerns and provide information on topics that are important to cancer patients and their caregivers. The articles cover a range of topics, from detection and managing side effects to mental health support. We offer both emotional and informative resources to those affected by cancer.
Our goal is simple: To create a space where people affected by cancer feel supported. Whether you are reading a story that reflects your own experience or learning from an article, we hope our platform helps you feel less alone. If you would like to share your cancer journey, we encourage you to submit your story here. We also invite you to read our article on hereditary colorectal cancer, which explores the genetic factors that contribute to cancer development.
Our Cancer Stories strives to ensure that no one faces cancer alone. Our platform is dedicated to offering support, understanding and a sense of community during one of life’s most challenging times. Currently, our website offers content covering breast, lung, stomach, colorectal and prostate cancer. We are excited to expand our coverage to liver, uterine and pancreatic cancer. Keep an eye out for new stories and informative articles that will continue to offer guidance and support.
