Interview for Asian people who have received genetic testing

This study aims to understand the experience of Asian patients at least 18 years of age who received genetic test results within the past two years. We are conducting 45-minute interviews that ask questions exploring the attitudes, feelings, and overall patient experience of receiving these results. This study highlights an underrepresented population to improve result disclosure by genetic counselors. Participants will receive a $25 Amazon gift card after the interview is completed.
This Study is Open To:
Participants must meet the following criteria for this study:
- identifies as Asian
- at least 18 years old
- received cancer genetic testing results (positive, negative, or ) within the past 2 years.
This Study is NOT Open To:
Participants who do not identify with the above eligibility requirements will be excluded from this study.
This study involves a 45-minute video call interview that asks questions regarding the emotions, attitudes and overall experiences that the participant had when receiving results from cancer genetic testing. Prior to completing the interview, a short screening survey will be sent to obtain demographic information that includes: gender, age, ethnicity, highest level of education received, if the individual was born in the United States, if diagnosed with cancer, age of cancer diagnosis, date of cancer diagnosis, family history of cancer, date of receipt of genetic testing results, number of genes tested in the multi-gene panel ordered. After completing the interview, participants will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
