Dedication
The amazing Jan Pillsbury- mom to 5 extraordinary children, 19 unique and loving grandchildren, wife to Hugh, adored friend to all who met her.
Personal Story
Jan learned of her BRCA 2 mutation after her daughter developed breast cancer and tested BRCA 2 positive. During a routine mammogram Jan was also diagnosed with breast cancer and went through surgery and treatment with her daughter! After making a full recovery, Jan opted to undergo a prophylactic oophorectomy. During surgery it was discovered that Jan had stage 3C fallopian tube cancer. After recovering from surgery and six grueling rounds of chemo, Jan was blessed with a few years of cancer-free living to enjoy with her large and loving family. Sadly, in March of 2011, Jan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She fought the good fight, which ended on 9/1/11.
I will miss my soul-sister more than words can say.
